Community Engagement Director

CAM-PLEX is currently seeking a high energy individual for Community Engagement Director. This position assists in the development, maintenance, and implementation of a comprehensive marketing, sales, and management plan for the event facility to attract local, regional, and national events. Develops and executes communications, public relations and marketing strategies including implementation of industry standard means and methods to fully execute these strategies. Communicates proactively and comprehensively to keep staff and stakeholders informed about CAM-PLEX, its' events and administrative functions. Promotes the use of the event facility so that the facility may be fully utilized. Manages and supervises the community engagement team in attracting new business, retaining current business and executing the community engagement department's strategic aims. Manages and supervises the event facility's performing arts programs, and assists in the booking of theater shows and entertainment. Manages and supervises the marketing functions of the event facility and its events.

Example of Daily Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the work of assigned personnel, including assigning and reviewing work, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive marketing, sales, and communications management strategies for CAM-PLEX departments as assigned.
  • Works with management and staff to schedule and administer special events, cam-events, rental events and RAP events for the overall success of CAM-PLEX.
  • Establishes a public speaking campaign to promote CAM-PLEX.
  • Develops and implements sponsorship programs and grants to secure funding for special events, CAM-EVENTS, and RAP events.
  • Ensures that all department programming achieves the highest quality, is appropriate for the representative audiences, and achieves the stated aims and mission of CAM-PLEX.
  • Develops, implements, and coordinates volunteer programs to support the mission of CAM-PLEX.
  • Strategically and proactively develop relationships with community organizations, businesses, and individuals to develop positive collaborations that enhance and further the mission of CAM-PLEX.
  • As requested, attend out-of-town trade shows and conventions to promote CAM-PLEX and attract/book events.
  • Develops, implements, and coordinates local event programming.
  • Consults with, responds to, and resolves questions, concerns, and issues raised by stakeholders including the public as they relate to national and regional events.
  • Contacts national, regional, and local businesses, organizations and associations for prospective meetings, conventions, and event bids.
  • Provides timely reports for all department activities to the Executive Director and Director of Events and Administration.
  • Performs in any number of event staff roles including box office, front of house, security, etc; as needed to ensure the safe and productive execution of events.
  • Coordinates facility needs, available date and cost related requirements, and equipment usage. Acts as management liaison for national and regional events.
  • Develops, implements, and reviews post-event evaluations for all events. Aggregates, develops, implements and reviews.
  • Develops, administers, monitors, and coordinates the Community Engagement department budget. Assists in developing, administering, monitoring, and coordinating the events budget, invoicing, and customer relationships.
  • Perform related duties as required.
Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in sales, marketing, public relations, or events
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
  • Class C Driver's license

Rodeo/Equine Event Technician - Full Time

CAM-PLEX is currently looking a full-time Event Technician. The qualified candidates will perform a variety of event setup, teardown, and maintenance of agricultural buildings including indoor and outdoor arenas, and other buildings as assigned. Provide other assistance as required by individual event and/or user; work varied hours to include nights, weekends and holidays. Three to four years of related experience in event setup including the operation of job related equipment and ability to obtain Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement.


EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1 Operate equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner as required by facility needs. Perform daily maintenance including oil levels, air and fuel filters, grease fittings and tire pressure checks.
2. Maintain dirt arenas for all events as required.
3. Assist with setup and tear down of CAM-PLEX events in East Pavilion including rodeos, cuttings, livestock sales, roping competitions, and the county fair.
4. Clean and maintain stables, make repairs as needed.
5. Assist with snow removal which may include plowing, hand shoveling and dispersing ice melting compounds as needed.
6. Setup and teardown of various types of stalls, holding pens, bucking chutes, roping chutes, crows nest's, bleachers, animal cages and pens.

Full Time - $20.58/hr plus excellent benefits: Health, Dental, Life and Vision insurance & Wyoming Retirement Pension. Paid time off for vacation, sick and holiday.

Rodeo/Equine Event Technician Supervisor-Full-Time

CAM-PLEX is currently looking a full-time Event Technician Supervisor. The qualified candidate will supervise, direct, and/or perform the full range of event set-up, tear-down, and maintenance duties for a wide variety of events. Works with customers to improve setups and operations. Creates a monthly budget and work schedules. Submits timecards. Performs property maintenance, snow removal, equine arena chores, and stall clean up. Provides other assistance as required by individual event and/or user. Provide other assistance as required by individual event and/or user; work varied hours to include nights, weekends and holidays. Five to seven years of related experience in event setup including the operation of job related equipment and Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement.

  • Assists in developing annual budget request. Requisitions supplies and materials. Estimates time, materials, and equipment required for assigned jobs. Purchases supplies according to policy and as needed.
  • Assists Event Custodians with event setup, trash removal, and bathroom checks as needed.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, safety meetings, and related activities. Attends workshops, conferences, and classes to increase knowledge. Serves on committees as assigned.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Performing Arts Volunteer

Performing Arts Ambassador

Ambassadors are volunteers who help staff events in the Heritage Center Theater. Ambassadors perform duties such as:
  • Greet the public
  • Assist patrons to their seats
  • Take tickets
  • Hand out programs
  • Crowd control
  • Assist handicapped patrons
  • Help in the gallery
  • Sell concessions and/or merchandise
The requirements to become an ambassador are:
  • At least be Junior High School age or older
  • Be able to work with the public
  • Show an interest in performing arts events
