North American Corriente Association Cattle Show

Date: Sept 16 - Sept 19, 2020
The North American Corriente Association (NACA) will be holding its National Corriente Cattle Show and Convention September 16-20, 2020 at the CamPlex in Gillette, Wyoming. Our national show presenting sponsored for 2020 is Reliance Ranches from Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Corriente cattle breeders from across the United States will gather in Gillette for three action packed days; NACA sanctioned judges will evaluate these cattle not only in the conformation classes but in performance classes as well. Corriente cattle are bred for performance, so some of the best team ropers and steer wrestlers in the US will gather at the event to allow each entry to show their performance ability. Along with all the action, members and friends will gather to reminiscence, network, and plan for the future of the association. Wednesday evening will be the “Welcome Wagon” where attendees will meet at the Arbuckle Hotel, the breeder’s official home for the week, for a social gathering and auction of an award-winning heifer from this year’s Texas Corriente Cattle Show. The meal for that event will be Corriente lean beef served to all in attendance. On Thursday the cattle judging begins along with board meetings for the members. The performance classes will be judged on Friday, followed by team roping in the afternoon. Saturday is an action-packed day with the member and breeders roping in the morning immediately followed by an NACA steer wrestling event with an RFD-TV American Qualifier. Steer wrestlers from across the US may use this event to qualify for the RFD-TV American to be held at the ATT Stadium, Arlington Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys.

The NACA established the registry in 1982 to protect the purebred lines of the Corriente cattle. Corrientes are not only superior team roping and steer wrestling cattle, they are the leanest beef in the industry. When done in the performance arena, animals are fed out by members and sold to consumers across the country who want a great healthy beef product. The program has been so successful that the Certified Corriente Beef Program was formed in 2019.
