The Gillette Edge Soccer Club took fans to the edge of their seats with fierce competition as they launched The K2 Technologies Clash at CAM-PLEX indoor soccer tournament earlier this year. Over 60 teams from four states came to battle in head to head competition, and players & fans alike were left hungry for more action. Their cries did not fall on deaf ears though, because today Edge Soccer announced that, not only would The Clash at CAM-PLEX return in 2020 but later this year they would also kick start the new Pepsi Cup!
Brian Hokanson of Edge Soccer had this to say, “we were thrilled by the success of The Clash tournament and the response we received from local players and those that traveled to compete. We knew we wanted to reward the fans and build on the first tournament’s success. We also felt that making the second tournament live up to our expectation would require a committed event sponsor.” They didn’t have to search for long though because, “hearing of the opportunity to give the assist to a new local tournament, the good folks at Pepsi threw their support behind the project and The Pepsi Cup was born,” noted Edge Soccer’s Kevin Couch.
Ron Rye of Pepsi added, “We are dedicated to supporting our local athletes and opportunities to increase tournament play in this great community. So, when Kevin and Brian with Edge Soccer told us of their vision for the new tournament, we knew it was something we wanted to help build.”
The Pepsi Cup will officially kick off this December 14th & 15th, 2019 in the Wyoming Center at CAM-PLEX and will be followed by the return of The K2 Technologies Clash at CAM-PLEX January 10th & 11th, 2020.Teams can find additional tournament information and will be able register online in the coming months by visiting our website.
